Where is it?
At the Tap Social Taproom in West Oxford. The address is
The Taproom, Tap Social
27 Curtis Industrial Estate
Oxford
OX2 0LX
It is right at the back of the industrial estate. Tap Social is a social enterprise that, amongst other things, brews “criminally good beer”.
So yes it will be a piss-up in a brewery.

When is it?
The party will at 3pm, have pizza about 5pm and finish at 8pm.
“Finish” may be a loose term as the bar itself will remain open until midnight and anyone is welcome to stay until then!
The date is on your invite 😉
Where exactly will the party be?
I’ve hired the mezzanine level; you’ll see the stairs on your left when you get to Tap Social.
Will there by drinks?
Yes it is a brewery! They usually have a wide range of beer as well as other drinks. I’m putting some money behind the bar for everyone to have a few drinks so make sure you get there early.
Will there be any food?
Yes, there will be pizza, from around 5pm.
Is there a theme?
Not at the moment, but 1970s would be one option!

Will there be any live music?
There will almost certainly be a band or DJ in the bar from about 7pm but this isn’t confirmed yet.
Do I need to let Phil know I’m coming?
Yes please! A “maybe” is perfectly acceptable so I have an idea of how many pizzas etc to order. Equally if you just want to drop in briefly that is would be lovely as it would be great to see you.
Is there anywhere I can stay nearby?
Yes, you can see the Oxford Botley Premier Inn from the Tap Social so that is probably your best bet. It is about a ten minute walk away.
Can I park there?
Yes and parking is free but to stay longer than 2 hours you have to go to the car parking website (QR code in the bar) and add your car registration to avoid a fine.
Where else can I park?
Well, you can always park at Seacourt Park & Ride which is no more than ten minutes walk away. You can pay at the machines or using the Ring&Go app and it is £2.50 for up to 16 hours or £4.50 for 24 hours. The postcode is OX2 0HP.
What about trains and buses?
Tap Social is 1.3 miles west of Oxford Train Station so you can walk it about 30 minutes or there are buses along the Botley Road, including the E1 and the Seacourt P&R buses but there aren’t as many buses as usual because…
Aren’t there huge roadworks near Oxford Train Station? What about the congestion charge?
Yes, you can’t drive under the railway on the Botley Rd which means the only way to drive to Tap Social is via the A34 on the west of Oxford. Google Maps knows it is shut so whatever you do don’t try and drive through the city as you cannot reach the west side until they finish the works. Also there is now a congestion charge but if you come via the A34 you’ll be fine.
